LaQuita Starr
LaQuita Starr is currently serving as Chair for Strategic Planning & Fund Development and has been an active member since 2014. She has more than 25 years of human resources experience spanning corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors. She is a Bestselling Author of book, The Power of Self-Care. LaQuita’s tenure was marked by the agency’s partnership with Star of Hope, Inc. and Angel with a Mission’s ability to host drives, collecting hundreds of tennis shoes for homeless men and women living on the streets of Houston and surrounding areas.
LaQuita is known for her integrity, work ethic, positive approach and passion for nonprofit organizations. She has served on Board of Directors for the Houston Area Urban League, is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc, and is an active volunteer for HR Houston, Fort Bend Junior Service League, Alzheimer Association, Gulf Coast Blood Center, and Child Advocates of Fort Bend. LaQuita graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Carolyn Horace
Carolyn Horace is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors. Carolyn has been an active AWAM member since 2018 and in 2020 was voted as “most participant angel”. She graduated from Midwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and obtained a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. Carolyn has worked as a Senior Accountant for various industries during her career. She also has served as a volunteer for the Internal Revenue Service preparing tax returns through their VITA program. In her free time Carolyn enjoys shopping, avid sports fan, spending time with her family and reading a good book.
My greatest passion is to provide charitable service to others as well as offer encouragement. The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service to others.

Patrese Allen
Patrese Allen is a proud native of Dallas, Texas, who has spent her life rooted in the surrounding communities. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Capella University and a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in Global Security from Kent State University. Guided by a lifelong commitment to service, Patrese dedicates her time and skills to advocacy and volunteer work that promotes meaningful social change. Her efforts focus on key issues such as homelessness, human trafficking, racism, and the abuse of children and the elderly. Passionate about fostering hope and compassion, she finds fulfillment in helping others find stability, safety, and purpose.
Beyond her advocacy work, Patrese enjoys traveling, creating abstract and diamond art, and watching movies—activities that allow her to recharge and express her creativity. Her dedication to supporting veterans, especially those who are homeless, is deeply personal. Coming from a family with five generations of military service—her great-grandfather, grandfather, father, brother, and son all served—Patrese carries a powerful legacy of sacrifice and duty. She honors a promise to her late father, who told her, “Baby, always take care of the vets, because the government won’t.” Since his passing in 2023, Patrese has made it her mission to continue that promise through advocacy, outreach, and service that uplifts and honors the men and women who have served our country.

Rossan Antia
Rossan Antia has been an active member of Angels With A Mission since 2014 and is deeply committed to community service and advocacy. She brings over 16 years of professional experience with the State of Texas. Extensive work in accounting within the oil and gas industry, where she currently serves in an accounting department role, providing strong financial insight and organizational support.
Rossan is the owner of Antia Traveling Spa (ATS), a mobile spa service that brings a serene, spa-like experience directly into clients’ homes, promoting wellness, self-care, and relaxation.
Her passion for service was solidified during her first missionary trip to St. Vincent, West Indies, where she worked directly with individuals experiencing homelessness. That experience sparked what she considers her calling to serve vulnerable populations and support community-based outreach efforts.
In addition to her role with Angels With A Mission, Rossan has volunteered with numerous organizations including Houston Pregnancy Center, Fort Bend Junior Service League, The Taste Project, Eastpoint Church of Christ Ministries, Sisters Network Breast Cancer, In Her Shoes, Lunches of Love, Inc., and the Alzheimer’s Association. She currently serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Kind Hearts Organization, a position she has held since 2021.
Rossan’s dedication to service, leadership, and compassion continues to positively impact individuals and families both locally and beyond.

Rosalyn Caldwell
Rosalyn has been an active volunteer with Angels with a Mission since 2022 and was recently selected to serve on the organization’s Board of Directors. She brings 11 years of professional and financial experience as a Relationship Associate with Principal Financial Group, along with prior experience in accounting and human resources.
Rosalyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in accounting from University of Phoenix. She is passionate about serving and helping others in need, enjoys giving back to her community, supporting her church, and finds joy in working with children whenever possible. She reminds herself on a daily basis that each day is a fresh start.

Vinetta Miles
Vinetta Miles, brings over 15 years of knowledge and diverse experience to the leadership. She started volunteering with Angels With A Mission in 2015. Vinetta is employed by the State of Texas for the past 23 years in social services providing assistance to the great citizens of Texas. Vinetta is also a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for the last 22 years with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She loves empowering, encouraging and making women feel good about themselves. Vinetta believes her purpose in life is being of service to others. Making a difference in the lives of others is her daily goal. Her daily Gratitude Thought include: "Thank you Lord for blessing me to be a blessing to those around me."

Kenieca Moore
Kenieca Moore works in customer service for a municipal utility operator in the Greater Houston area and has built her career around a genuine love for people and a passion for helping others. Inspired by her mother, a nurse, who taught her to treat everyone like family, Kenieca believes we are made to love others and serve one another with compassion and respect.
Her commitment to community involvement began with her first job at McDonald’s, where she discovered the impact of simple acts of kindness and was introduced to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. She has since volunteered in nursing homes and supported community programs through Kappa Delta and Girl Scouts.
As a mother of two teenage boys, Kenieca is dedicated to teaching the importance of volunteering and giving back. She is honored to serve on the board of Angels with a Mission and support its work serving foster children, individuals experiencing homelessness, and others in need throughout the Houston area.

Janet Allen
Janet has been an active member of AWAM since 2021 and has participated in many volunteer projects. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a minor in Special Education. She obtained a master’s degree in Education and a Principal Certification from Grand Canyon University. She retired from Houston Independent School District where she worked as a Teacher, Reading Specialist, and Instructional Coordinator.
Janet enjoys volunteering with Angels with a Mission, the Fort Bend Human Needs, Houston Food Bank, and the M.I. Lewis Center. She currently serves on the Board for the Texas State Youth Conference. Janet is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
In her leisure time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family. She has a passion for encouraging, motivating, and helping others. Janet believes you are not given another day to be mediocre and fosters this mindset in others.

Nita Bagley
Nita Bagley is a native Houstonian and is responsible for the Angel Outreach Program. She attended Abilene Christian University and did her graduate work at Stephen F. Austin State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree in Education along with a degree to be a Supervisor and Principal. Nita has taught school for 31 years. For the last 20 years, she has been subbing, tutoring, and volunteering at her old school. She is a Christian who loves finding ways to encourage people around her.

Shenita Hicks
She has been a dedicated volunteer of Angels with a Mission since 2014. She retired from the State of Texas after dedicating 26 years of service. Shenita credits a large portion of her drive to serve others to her previous employer where she was able to witness her client’s financial struggles. She has dedicated her life to serving those throughout the community.
Shenita is known for gentle, caring spirit and has been recognized on many levels by various organizations for her philanthropy. She is an active volunteer for the Jewett Johnson Foundation, Baytown Homeless Shelter, and Star of Hope, Inc. She enjoys cooking, working out, and traveling.

Shonda Joseph
I am a proud alumna of Texas Southern University with 20 years of experience in commercial property management. My dedication to excellence is reflected not only in my professional accomplishments but also in my work as a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I have served as an Ombudsman volunteer for over four years and have devoted more than eight years to AWAM (Angel With A Mission).
Volunteering is truly a passion of mine. I value the opportunity to give my time, energy, and spirit to others, and I am equally grateful for the kindness, connection, and shared purpose I receive in return. Each experience strengthens my commitment to service and my desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I encounter.
I have a deep passion for helping others, and I enjoy surrounding myself with people who share that same dedication. Guided by the belief that no one is a stranger, I lead with compassion, foster meaningful connections, and strive to make a positive impact in every area of my professional and personal life.

Candice Lewis
Candice Lewis has been an active member of AWAM since 2020 and facilitates the Sisters Inspiring Sisters monthly devotional. She was voted one of the 2020 Angels of the Year. Candice began her career in education in 1999 as a Special Education Teacher and has held various other positions including Principal, Adjunct College Professor and Director of Education. Her current role in the Houston Independent School District is Grants Administrator where she manages the district’s Title IV program. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston in 1998 and her Master’s Degree from the University of Houston–Victoria in 2005.
Outside of work Candice enjoys serving as a volunteer with Angels with a Mission and as an MS Activist with the MS Society. In this role, she has met with Congressmen and State Representatives regarding various laws that affect people living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Candice is currently working on a podcast that provides listeners, impacted Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a place to hear from others who are impacted with this condition as they share their unique stories. MS Conversations with Candi, is scheduled to launch in March 2021.

Lisa Marie Smith
Lisa Marie has volunteered with AWAM since 2021. In addition to being an active volunteer, she has served as Historian, as well as assisting with media and photography.
She has served on National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Texas Goverment Relations Committee since 2014, has been a Telephone Support Contact for The RLS Foundation since 2018, and volunteers for other various organizations throughout the year.
Since her retirement, she has found a love for writing and painting.

Sonia Tummala
Sonia Tummala's started volunteering with Angels with a Mission in 2016 and was voted as Volunteer of the Year in 2018 for her exceptional service in the community. Sonia has over 23 years of experience volunteering in various cities and non-profit organizations. In her career, Sonia has many years of experience in technical writing, graphic design, information technology and training.
Sonia graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a Master's Degree in Professional and Technical Communications from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two wonderful boys who keep her constantly on her toes. Sonia has a passion in helping others in need.
